Nostalgic Photos Capture Scenes Of A Newspaper's Dying Newsroom

Photographer Will Steacy spent the last five years documenting the scenes of The Philadelphia Inquirer’s newsroom and printing plant, giving us a peek into the issues that plague the shrinking newspaper industry.

Steacy’s photos in his self-funded project, ‘Deadline’, showed the gradual changes that the newsroom experienced—from lay-offs to declining circulation, making you wonder about the future of print in today’s digitalized world.

Working with an unrestricted access pass also allowed Steacy to capture peculiar sights from the newsroom, such as the stacks of iPhones waiting to be reviewed by reporters, and the cluttered mess of a journalist’s cubicle.

Currently, Steacy is wrapping up his Kickstarter campaign—he wants to compile and publish the final chapter of his project into a photo book.

Take a look at a selection of his work below, or head to his website to read more about his project.
