London-based performance artist Lewis G. Burton and Victor Ivanov had showcased a multi-dimensional artwork, titled ‘Flesh’.
As part of the project, Burton had to parade around Trafalgar Square covered from head to toe in a suit made entirely with pieces of real chicken skin sewn together, it started tearing and dripping when the day got hotter.
The duo wanted to give comment about commodification, with chicken as the object which inhabits every walk of our life—through the performance, the artists conveyed the message of how chickens “have become a part of the fabric of everyday life” in a literal form.
