German photographer Michael Wolf, who previously captured the urban density of Hong Kong and the agony of commuters in a crowded train, has turned his lens on Paris.
Wanting to avoid clichés associated with the City of Light, he decided to document its diverse roof tops instead.
The geometric patterns that emerge give each roof top its distinct identity, offering a different view of the French capital.
Wolf’s photographs are part of ‘Paris Abstraction’, which is currently exhibiting at the Robert Koch Gallery in San Francisco til 6 September 2014.
Check out some images below, and consider swinging by the exhibition if you’re in the area.
