The secret behind German photographer Julia Leeb’s coverage of North Korea for her new book, North Korea: Anonymous Country lies in her stealth—to escape the tough rules imposed on photography in the country, she went incognito during her trip by hiding her photojournalist status.
As she traveled across North Korea with her two friends and a tour group for a week, she managed to capture the country’s people, and its unique sights, streets, and attractions.
She even sneaked in a few photos from the country’s founder, Kim Il Sung, 100th birthday celebrations in her book.
