One would expect the business cards of world renowned designers to stand out from the crowd and make a statement—however, website Aisle. One recently shared an image that shows just the opposite.
The New York-based product designer behind Aisle. One found the image while “surfing around” on the internet—it shows what seem to be the ultra-minimalist business cards of legendary designers Josef Müller-Brockmann, Paul Rand, Adrian Frutiger and Helmut Schmid.
All of these business cards feature small black text on a simple white card, giving their recipients all the necessary contact information without any fancy embellishments.
While Aisle. One initially states that it could not confirm the authenticity of these cards, respected graphic designer Michael Beirut has since verified that they look “legit” on Twitter, adding that he recognizes the cards of both Rand and Müller-Brockmann.
What do you think of these design icons’ business cards—very cool or underwhelming?
