Online art gallery DeviantArt has unveiled a new logo and identity—this is the first branding redesign to be released since it was first launched in 2000.

Designed by creative company Moving Brands, the new bold and angled logo features DeviantArt’s initials in a sleek ‘Calibre’ font that is specially created by Klim Type Foundry.

To complement its new logo, DeviantArt’s website has a new layout featuring a neutral color palette of green and grey hues, allowing posted artworks to be presented “in the best light”.

With their new tagline, “Bleed and Breed Art”, DeviantArt hopes to “nurture creativity and spread art though out the world” with its collective of digital art and artists.

A DeviantArt app, designed for both iOS and Android, is also scheduled to be launched on 10 December 2014, offering users a new mobile experience.
