A series of US nuclear weapon tests featured ‘Operation Crossroads’ in 1946, where a 23-kilotun nuke known as ‘Baker’ was blasted 90 feet underwater at Bikini Atoll.

The explosion caused a tidal wave that reached over two miles high.

The immense body of water that shape-shifted from a dome to a mushroom cloud created an enticing movement that is beautiful yet somewhat terrifying.

Many of the pictures were taken miles away, capturing a unique beauty of the reaction from the experimented chaos.
