Brooklyn-based graphic designer Aymie Spitzer—who has a soft spot for hand-drawn, hand-lettered vintage maps—has founded ‘Neighborwoods’, where she etches pretty neighborhood maps onto pieces of wood.
Spitzer carves her maps onto a number of wooden products, including necklaces, coasters and even skateboards.
Each Neighborwoods map—“Your hood etched on wood”—is created on unfinished cedar wood and features both standard fonts and custom fonts by the graphic designer.
You can vote for the next neighborhood to be etched in wood or make a custom order—view more of Neighborwood’s creations on its website.
