French designer Philippe Starck has recently unveiled a new tap in New York this week, and it only uses half the water of regular taps.
Named the Organic Tap, it uses 90 jets to spurt combinations of air and water, giving the sensation of water than actually used.
"We have created a new type of water, which we call 'empty water'," says Starck. "You have the feeling of having a lot of water, but with less."
These taps are designed for bathroom brand Axor, and its shape is derived from natural forms where the nozzle of the tap is kept low in the bowl, so as to minimize splashing the surrounding basin and surfaces.
