If you want to have an accurate glimpse into the past, just look at these spectacular images of young creatives from the 1950s partying it up at the Art Students Leagues’ Dream Balls.
These images documented by LOOK Magazine have captured the glamor of the 1950s.
The annual costume ball was held at iconic locations such as the Waldorf-Astoria, and it included the presentation of the queen of the ball, costumes and props galore, and plenty of booze.
This event was termed by one newspaper as: “The Greatest Event Since The Nude Descended The Stairs," adding that it was "a mad, moist, marvelous, magical, magnificent, mammoth, meaty, massive, monstrous, muscular. muliebrous, Machiavellian, multimolecular masterpiece."
