Hailing from South Korea, artist Wang Zi Won creates mechanical sculptures of Buddha and bodhisattvas—which are also known as “enlightened beings” in the Buddhist faith—to explore mankind’s spirituality in today’s technologically oriented world.
These statues are electrically-powered—the lotus seats and halos move simultaneously with the sculpture in repetitive patterns.
