The Illinois Office of Tourism, together with advertising agency JWT Chicago recently launched a new campaign that stars a miniature plastic figurine of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States.
The figurine is colloquially known as “Mini Abe” and he is seen grunting, groaning and ziplining and enjoying everything the state has to offer.
The copy reads "Be more spontaneous this fall,", with a call to action to utilize the #MiniAbe hashtag.
A spokeswoman for the tourism office tells the Chicago Business Journal that tourism inquiries made through enjoyIllinois.com are up 57 percent over a year ago.
