Workman Publishing has created a wall calendar called ‘Just Type’, it is designed in 12 different typeface for each month, celebrating the artistry of the font.
The calendar details the history, characteristic, and fascinating trivia of each featured typeface—it also marks out the x-height, cap height, glyph width, and other elements used in creating the typeface.
Some of the typeface includes the ornate Caslon, also known as the script of kings, used during the Declaration of Independence from the king. The Bondoni featured in month of October, was inspired by the English Baskerville and French Didot, it was considered as a “modern typeface” with a geometric construction of thick and thin strokes.
Type lovers can find out more about the calendar here.
