To share his immense interest in insect biology and microscopy with the world, scientist David Phillips took 150 black-and-white photos of various insects, and compiled it into a photo book, Art and Architecture of Insects.
His photos, all taken with an electron microscope, revealed details that cannot be seen by the human eye, such as the insects’ molecule-sensing antennae, and its unique wax surface that prevents evaporation.
