Exactly two years before the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the event’s organizing committee has launched the “Look of the Games”.
Inspired by Brazil, Brazilians and Rio de Janeiro, the colorful and vibrant icon is designed to reflect the country’s cultural diversity, beautiful nature and energetic personality.
According to Fast Co. Design, the bright swirl consisting of reds, oranges, greens and blues hides several of Rio’s most famous landmarks—for instance, the unmistakeable “Christ the Redeemer” statue stands in the middle of the icon, looking small but distinctive.
