Located in North Madrid, the ‘All I Own House’ is an experimental one-storey apartment featuring customized, modular structures that transforms to suit its owner’s needs.

It was designed by Madrid-based architect firm PKMN Architectures for a designer named Yolanda R. Pila, whose grandmother used to own the house.

The highlight of the property is the three movable pods that can be joined together or separated using a simple industrial railing system. Through careful design, they are able to fit a bookshelf, a blackboard, a dining table, a closet, a bed and storage space.

A push of the structures reveals the bathroom on one side, and they can be rearranged to make space for a sitting area.

With the trend towards smaller apartments in cities, versatile and functional homes like this are an ingenious way of utilizing every inch of space.

Check out a video tour of the apartment below. Would you like to live in a compact, shape-shifting house like this one?
