Stunning Installation Uses Light Beams To Mimic The Northern Lights

Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde, who wowed us recently with his illuminated Van Gogh-themed bicycle path, has created another stunning installation that resembles the beautiful Northern Lights.

Titled ‘Waterlicht’, the light installation consists of huge LED beams that produce “waves” of blue lights moving and criss-crossing across the skies, just like the iconic aurora borealis.

The installation was created together with Dutch water board Rhine and IJssel to raise awareness about the country’s topography, which mostly lies below sea level.
