Password Generator Uses 4 Random Words

Inspired by an XKCD comic about password strength, Washington, US-based web developer Joel Walters created a password generator that uses the comic’s logic.

For those who didn’t read the comic, it’s about how we create difficult passwords that are just as easy for computers to crack—and that it is actually better to have a long password with random words.

‘Joel’s Password generator’ creates secure passwords of four random words put together—because: “Using common words in your password aids memorability”; and “using multiple words ensures sufficient complexity to prevent guessing of the password.”

“Contrasting a seven-letter password to a seven word password, a seven word password has 2 quadrillion times more complexity, or combinations,” Walters wrote on his site.

“Exploit your brain’s ability to memorize sequences of words with ease, and you will be rewarded with a more memorable-secure password.”

Do you think these would fool the computers?
