When the ‘legendary’ pass away, grand gestures materialize.
The passing of 104-year-old Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer last December has been a catalyst for the creation of a towering mural by graffiti artist Eduardo Kobra.
Featuring in Brazil’s Sao Paulo financial district, the 180-foot tall vibrant art work is a sight that is hard to miss.
Kobra’s work employs Niemeyer’s trademark forms of colorful patterns and geometric shapes in an artistic mesh of overlapping and collaging.
Upon completion, the work will resemble the great Niemeyer himself.
