Spanish architects VAUMM has designed a cardboard-inspired store.
Designed for discount coupon website Deskontalia, customers visit the store to pick up their internet orders and to find out about the latest offers.
The space does not display any physical products, so the architects had to find a way to fill the empty room.
Drawing inspiration from cardboard boxes that were used for transportation, they came up with the idea to cover the walls and ceiling with cardboard-like furniture and shelves.
According to VAUMM, they said, “Cartons are converted into the measurement unit of the architectural proposal.”
“Small cartons are elements to generate a kind of sculpture that envelops the wall and roof to create different environments which users can interact with.”
Most of these cardboard furniture can also be rearranged for different displays.
