Amazing Macro Shots Of Snowflakes Taken With A Point-And-Shoot Camera

Moscow-based hobbyist photographer Alexey Kljatov has produced a stunning series of snowflake macro pictures using just the 12.1MP Canon Powershot A650, which is a compact, point-and-shoot camera.

Working without any fancy and expensive camera gear, the photographer started out by using the standard macro mode on the consumer camera.

He has recently built a “super macro add-on” with a Helios 44M-5 lens from an old Soviet Zenit SLR camera to help him capture these mesmerizing images of snowflakes.

The snowflakes macro shots are either taken against a background of glass or dark woolen fabric—see more of Kljatov amazing shots on his Flickr page.
