Fujifilm Invents Thin Flexible Speakers

Just when you thought speakers couldn’t get more interesting, Fujifilm decides to prove you wrong.

The Beat diaphragm invention has a surface that is made of soft polymer, which allows it to be easily folded.

The cool part comes into play when it is subjected to a 20Hz-20kHz audio range: It hardens, allowing steady sound to be emitted by the in-built piezoelectic ceramics.

We don’t know anyone using the ‘rollable’ speakers yet, but we can’t wait to see how this fares when they do gain popularity.

How about some bendy speakers to go with all your other portable devices?
