Twitter Hacked: 250,000 Users Compromised

Twitter has reported that personal information—usernames, email addresses, session tokens and encrypted versions of passwords—of about 250,000 users have been compromised.

The attack has been reported to have been carried out by professional hackers and they remain at large.

Among others joining their hacking plight this past week is The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Bloomberg News.

Twitter has reset passwords for affected accounts and informed their corresponding users of the situation by way of email.

Twitter urges all existing users to ensure that they have secure passwords for their accounts.
