To celebrate the London Underground’s 150th year of operation this year, the London Transport Museum is showcasing 150 vintage posters from its archive for a special anniversary exhibition.
Tracking the evolution of London’s graphic design history through the last century and a half, these posters form a fascinating time capsule.
Featuring various themes, ranging from advertisements for the zoo to public service announcements, many of these posters are the work of legendary artists like Edward McKnight Kauffer, Alfred Leete, Man Ray and Charles Paine.
The exhibition, ‘Poster Art 150 – London Underground’s Greatest Designs’, will be held at the London Transport Museum until 27 October 2013.
