A Transparent Glass House In The Forest, Built Around A Living Tree

Architect Aibek Almasov has created an intriguing concept for a very unusual home that is designed to be constructed in the forest outside of Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city.

Named “Tree in the House”, this beautiful country home consists of a transparent, four-story glass tower that is built around a living three, while being surrounded by many other trees.

Inspired by the calming effect that labyrinths have on busy minds, the house is meant to be an escape from the bustling city—a continuous, spiraling stairway inside it attempts to replicate the meditative function of a meandering garden path.

Erasing both the visual and physical barriers between the natural and the man-made, the architect hopes that this house will be a sanctuary where its resident can develop both creatively and spiritually.

While it is still in its early conceptual stage, we would love to see it completed some day and find out how it would work out in real life.
