Considering that we are using our mobile devices practically all the time right now, battery life is becoming one of the most important aspects of a product.
To eliminate the need for long charging time, Israeli company StoreDot has created an impressive Flash battery and accompanying charger that would allow you to charge your smartphones and other devices in under 60 seconds.
Last year, the company posted up a video that show the StoreDot charing a Samsung phone completely in less than a minute—however, the size of the battery and charger used in that demonstration was too large for daily use.
At their recent CES showcase, StoreDot unveiled a slimmer version of their power battery pack—according to Doron Myersdorf, StoreDot’s CEO, there are “reactions in the battery that are non-traditional reactions that allow us to charge very fast, moving ions from an anode to a cathode at a speed that was not possible before we had these materials”.
StoreDot has much larger plans than just charging mobile devices—they are also working towards charging electric vehicles.
