Canada’s New Passport Reveals Awesome Illustrations Under UV Light

Canada may have introduced its new range of electronic passports in mid-2013, but they have managed to catch the web’s attention only recently.

Similar to Norway’s minimalist passports that we featured recently, the new Canadian passport is designed with pages that are covered with “optically variable ink”, allowing them to “glow” when viewed under UV light.

As seen in the images below, recently posted by Reddit user Gallowboob, the nondescript pages of the passport seem to transform into an array of colorful, festive patterns of maple leaves, fireworks and other national icons when viewed beneath the black light.

Take a look at the pages of the Canadian passport below, and head here to view the rest.
