Female Student’s Yearbook Photos Were Edited To Make Her Face Look Thinner

A female high school student recently wrote that her yearbook photos were photoshopped without her consent, making her face appear thinner and almost unrecognizable.

According to the student’s post on Reddit, the edits, made by the company hired by the high school, included “face smoothing”, “skin recoloring” and “face thinning”.

“Going to an all girls school we are constantly reminded about positive body image and accepting ourselves for who we are. Having all these changes made to make me appear thinner makes me wonder how must our school practices what they preach,” she added.

Interestingly, her post must have caught the attention of her school—she has since updated her post and said that the original and untouched photos will be used in her school’s yearbook instead.

What do you think—should yearbook photos be “corrected”?
