It’s Incredibly Hard To Tell That These ‘Photos’ Are Actually Paintings

We have featured artists who work with hyperrealism before, but the amazing creations of London-based oil painter Michael Sydney Moore still stands out for their astounding likeness to photographs.

At just 23 years old, the artist already seems to have mastered the techniques required to produce his fascinating art.

His process actually starts with taking a few photographs of the subject—the painting process itself takes 3-6 weeks for smaller works and 6-9 weeks for larger ones (130cm x 90cm).

Moore regularly posts his works-in-progress on his Instagram account—follow him to find out how he reproduces photographs with his paintbrushes.

Finally finished this painting. Took about 6 weeks which is quite quick for me. Instagram cropped the photo horribly. #realism #hyperrealism #artist #artwork #art #portrait #sketch #fineart #painting #oilpainting #sketchbook #artist #artnerd

Another quick update of my most recent piece. Any questions welcomed as always.
