Rare Breath-Taking Photos Of Upside-Down Iceberg That Looks Like Giant Gemstone

San Francisco-based photographer Alex Cornell recently made a trip to Antarctica, and returned with a collection of stunning images of snow-covered mountains, penguins and massive icebergs.

Among these pictures are some very rare ones of an iceberg that has flipped over to show what is usually under the water—while normal icebergs are stark white, this upside-down one is in a breath-taking “alien blue”, making it look like a huge piece of shiny gemstone.

The architecture of the iceberg is also fascinating to behold—its sculptural surface is clear enough for one to look inside of it, to find “air bubbles and flowing water”.
