Swedish has created a giant mural with the well-known branding marks of mega brands that covers the floor of an art gallery in Houston, Texas.
Made in the shape of a mandala, a Hindu and Buddhist spiritual motif, the mural consists of several concentric circles—upon scrutiny, it is revealed that each circle is made up of a distinctive, familiar logo.
Featuring the bold ‘K’ of Kmart and seashell of Shell, the repeated logos form a hypnotic visual treat and represent how “the symbols and patterns in this mandala transform into an image of how our daily rhythm of commonplace doings blends with advertising and enters deep into our lives, homes, and minds.”
