New York-based advertising agency Swell NY has created something exciting for their client, fashion brand Kate Spade.
They created the world’s first shoppable web video ad, housed in a web banner.
Using Google Lightbox and HTML5, this banner is the first of its kind that allows consumers to reach each product directly without having to click through several pages.
According to Kate Spade Chief Marketing Officer Mary Beech, "What we really liked is that the technology provided an immediate, seamless, shoppable element that enhanced the experience, rather than pulling you out of it."
With social and online media becoming an increasingly larger part of advertising and brand strategy, Beech says this seemed like a natural progression after seeing consumer engagement efforts on its social media channels and its own website pay off.
