Copenhagen-based artist and photographer Lukas Renlund staged a fun, interactive event on the streets of Barcelona, Spain where he asks passers-by to literally steal his photo-art.
Putting up framed copies of his work on random public spots, each photograph is accompanied with a written request by Renlund to “steal it”.
Behind each frame is a camera—that records the reactions of the unwitting “art thieves”—and a message from the photographer on what one has to do in exchange for their newly acquired artwork.
The people who are lucky enough to make away with Renlund’s photographs are free to keep them, but they have to take a picture of the place where they have hung the picture and email it to the photographer.
