When Jessica Shyba—mother of three and writer of lifestyle blog ‘Momma’s Gone City’—brought home a puppy last Christmas, she didn’t know what to expect; especially not the affectionate bond it would develop with her youngest son Beau.
Little Theo, adopted from the Santa Cruz SPCA, is an adorable mix of Boxer, Shepherd, and Labrador Retriever. After crying for the first two nights from refusing to sleep alone in a crate, Theo finally found a peaceful sleeping position on the third day—falling asleep snuggled up to Beau during the latter’s afternoon nap.
For the next few days, Theo would waddle into the room when Beau was being tucked in for a nap, snuggle up beside him, and drift off to sleep. Sometimes, Theo would wait for Beau to fall asleep, but most times, the sleepy pup would droop over and promptly fall asleep.
