Artist Michael Murphy, who we featured previously, returns with another installation that plays on the idea of “graphic illusions”.
For his installation piece called ‘Gun Country’, Murphy used 130 toy guns that were painted black with orange tips, and hung them meticulously to create an illusion.
When his artwork is viewed from a certain angle, the toy guns form a map of the United States.
“It is intended to stimulate conversation about guns and gun related issues in our country…it is my hope that people will think more critically about their stance on this topic,” said Murphy in his artist statement.
