You may have used a handful of these dirty words occasionally, but do you really know when they were first introduced to the world?
Lapham’s Quarterly has created ‘Body Talk’, a fascinating chart that documents the years when these words first made their appearance in the Oxford English Dictionary.
Apparently, the word “fart” was one of the first “filthy words” that made it to the dictionary, as early as 1250.
