To add some festive cheer to grocery shopping, checkout clerks at German supermarket Edeka treated shoppers to a rousing rendition of a Christmas classic recently.

Instead of singing, they scanned items to get their registers to beep the right notes to ‘Jingle Bells’, and were even joined by a beatboxing percussion soloist.

As the lights dimmed, the shoppers bopped and swayed to the tune while the Christmas colors of red and green flashed merrily from the checkout lanes.

The awesome stunt put a smile on the faces of everyone present, turning an ordinary trip to the supermarket into a delightful experience.

Created by Hamburg-based ad agency Jung von Matt, the video titled ‘Kassensymphonie’ (“Checkout Symphony”) has already garnered over 11 million views on YouTube.
