Poignant Sketches Of Wistful Children Address Verbal Bullying

Peony Yip, an artist from Hong Kong, tackles the issue of bullying among children with a series of black and white sketches. Having once been a victim of bullying, she aims to raise awareness of the topic.

The drawings depict children in dejected positions, with the words of common slurs like “white trash” and “slant eyes” emblazoned on them in bold typography.

Yip encourages us to help the children stand up to bullying, and she quotes Harvey S. Fireston: “Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life, but define yourself.”
