Anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows that it’s not a bed of roses—there will be times when you and your partner will encounter obstacles, and not every romance has a happy ending.
Directed by Los Angeles-based director Sam Boyd, the simply named short film In A Relationship beautifully and heartbreakingly illustrates this fact.
The 19-minute mockumentary-style short follows two couples as they navigate the opposing stages of a relationship; Matt and Willa who have just hooked up, and Owen and Abby who are utterly bored with each other after five years together.
According Boyd, he was inspired by Woody Allen’s Husbands and Wives to make a realistic movie about couples and the problems they face.
Featuring Dakota Johnson of Fifty Shades Of Grey fame, the film is an honest and raw look at what relationships are really like.
