Fans of Vincent Van Gogh will appreciate Touch Van Gogh, an app for tablets by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam that allows you to uncover what lies beneath the Dutch master’s famous art pieces.
It allows users to discover the original color of a painting or deconstruct its scene. Simply swipe the screen to digitally remove a layer of varnish from The Bedroom, or erase the top layer of View from Theo’s Apartment to find out how Van Gogh reused the canvas.
Currently, there are three paintings available on the app with another 12 set to be released over the next 24 months.
Touch Van Gogh is available for free download from the iTunes Store and Google Play.
