‘Return to Sender’ is an on-going series of humorous self-portraits by Memphis-based photographer Tommy Kha featuring himself kissing strangers in various locations.
He has only one request for potential partners: they must kiss him on the lips. Whether they choose to do it while carrying him in their arms or cupping his face, Kha’s reaction in each shot is one of passive indifference.
Kha says his photos are meant to challenge stereotypes of Asian men as neutered, asexual, or submissive as portrayed by the media, by placing himself as the photographer.
With his stoic expression and unresponsive body language, the collection of photos makes for hilarious viewing.
