Man Uses Twitter Hashtags To Find Mystery Woman He Fell In Love With On A Plane

When 24-year-old Irishman Jamie Kelly found himself seated next to 27-year-old Canadian Katie Moreau on a Ryanair flight from Dublin to Barcelona, he never expected to fall in love with her.

The pair started chatting after Kelly gave up his seat to Moreau’s mother, and hit it off instantly.

Unfortunately, they were separated before they could exchange any contact details.

Undeterred by the fact that he didn’t know her surname or other personal information, Kelly created the Twitter hashtags ‘findKatie’ and ‘loveatfirstflight’ to track her down.

His campaign caught the attention of Irish media, and he even appeared on a radio show to help his search.

“I originally looked for her on Facebook and couldn’t find her. And I went to the airline and they couldn’t do anything for me. So then I went on the (Ray) D’Arcy show today and they couldn’t find her,” Kelly recounted.

Coincidentally, it turned out Moreau had been looking for him too. She told CBS News that she had tried looking for “the handsome Irishman” with “lovely eyes” after clearing customs, but eventually gave up for fear of seeming too desperate.

The pair were reunited after a relative of Moreau’s saw the hashtags and put her in touch with Kelly—they have been talking online and plan to meet again.

What do you think—isn’t it a lovely story?
