The Pokémon Company has just announced a new game in the works—Pokkén Tournament.
Bandai NAMCO Games, game developer of the Tekken and Soul Calibur series, will be behind its development.
According to Kotaku, Tekken team’s head Katsuhiro Harada described Pokkén Tournament as “closer to an action game”.
He said, “Whether you are a casual player, a regular player or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokémon can have fun.”
Soul Calibur’s producer Masaaki Hoshino said the “best developers” in the team will be working on the “best graphics” for the new game that even adults can look forward to.
Pokkén Tournament is slated for release in Japanese arcades next year. There’s no word yet on a US or console game release.
