LOL: In Japan, People Are Posing Like They Have Toothaches

It looks like there’s a new photo trend in Japan—people are posing for pictures looking like they have toothaches.



Believe it or not, there is an actual name for this pose and it’s called “musiba no poozu” or “mushiba poozu”, which literally means “cavity pose.”



According to Kotaku, such photographs first appeared on Twitter last year, with users specifically referring to the “cavity pose”, and it appears the trend has reared its head again.



Apart from photographs, the trend has extended to magazine covers and even drawings.



The pose apparently makes one’s face look slimmer, and is also a cute way of saying the poser has tooth decay.
