Brooklyn-based Dutch graphic designer Bas Waijers blends reality with his rich imagination by doodling adorable characters in blue ink onto photographs of urban scenes.
From a gigantic puppy dozing on top of a building to quirky little boys on the subway and floating whales in the streets, the “Bedoodled” series of illustrated photographs creatively imagines an alternative life in New York City.
With nothing more than a blue pen, the designer tells fascinating stories with his made-up characters, turning the fast-paced city life into something less mundane and more whimsical.
Other than the Bedoodled project, the talented doodler has also developed a few interactive children’s storybook apps for iPad.
