Pixar’s New Animated Short Film Features A Lovely Singing Volcano

Pixar has released a short teaser clip of its upcoming animated short film, Lava, which will be debuted in front of Inside Out on 19 June 2015.



The teaser clip introduces us to Lava’s lead character, Uku, a lovely Hawaiian volcano singing about his dream to find love.



According to Pixar, the new short film is inspired by “the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes”.

Bizarre Close-Up Photographs Of Human Faces Taken Upside Down

South Africa-based photographer Anelia Loubser has an intriguing series tited ‘Alienation’ featuring bizarre close-up photographs of human faces taken upside down.



By simply flipping photographs of eyes and foreheads, Loubser challenges our perceptions and encourages us to look at things more closely, resulting in images that feel at once familiar but strange.



According to her project description, it was inspired by a quote from American self-help author and motivational speaker Wayne Dyer: “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Through centuries of domestication and training, dogs are no longer the man-hunting animals they used to be.



In this infographic titled “The Evolution of Dogs”, Bouchardon traces the lineage of dog breeds, and unveils what kind of ancestors they had.

A Unique Flower Pot That 'Rolls' In Order To Get More Sunlight

Barcelona-based industrial design studio, Studio BAG Disseny, has designed a rolling flower pot that lets your plants grow in a manner that is better and healthier.



These waterproof terracotta pots are handmade in La Bisbal d’Empordà in Spain. They are designed with the ability of movement, allowing them to “follow the path of the sun, to sway in a breeze or grow at will”.



Shaped in a semi-conical shape, they have the ability to whirl in a circular direction simply by moving the base. This allows more sunlight to shine on its leaves, contributing to healthier growth.
