California-based company Acton has designed RocketSkates, motorized roller skates that are battery-powered.

Stated to be just like ‘Segways for your feet’, RocketSkates are unobtrusive, relatively affordable, and not painfully dorky.

To get your pair of RocketSkates to work, simply strap them on to regular flat-soled shoes, and control your speed and direction by shifting your weight forward to accelerate and backward to slow down.

As of right now, RocketSkates are priced between USD$499 to USD$699, in varying colors and battery life. They support a weight of up to 275 pounds.
