Cancer Survivor Uses Photography To Conquer Fear And Encourage Others

When Canadian photographer Robin Macmillan was diagnosed with breast cancer at 39-years-old, she realized that “life is too short to not be following your passion”.

Wanting to make the best of what she thought was her remaining time, and also to distract herself from her treatments, Macmillan dwelled into photography, finding new ways to become more creative.

She cited her daughter as her biggest source of hope and is often the main subject in her surreal portraits. Through her story and photos, Macmillan hopes that others can “take a look at their daily lives, and see how they can make a change”.

Fortunately, Macmillan is now cancer-free after her treatments and is still continuing her love for photography.
