Auction house Bonhams will be auctioning off a rare Apple 1 computer motherboard from 1976 in New York later this month.
Believed to be one of 50 original pieces assembled by Steve Wozniak in Steve Jobs’ family garage for Byte Shop’s Paul Terrell, it is expected to fetch a staggering US$400,000, 600 times its original price of US$666.66.
According to the auction house, the piece in its collection is one of only 15 that are still in working condition.
The gadget is one of the many historical items going under the gavel at Bonham’s first-ever History of Science auction on 22 October.
If you have deep pockets and would like to own this piece of computing history, you’re advised to contact Bonhams a week before the auction.
