The Wildlife Photographer of the Year award went to American photographer Michael ‘Nick’ Nichols for his shot of lions and cubs in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, while the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year title was awarded to eight-year-old Spaniard Carlos Perez Naval for his image of a scorpion basking in the sun.
The two photographs, along with shortlisted images, will be on display at the museum from 24 October 2014 to 30 August 2015, before being exhibited internationally.
